The EVDD Connected Vehicle Quality Early Warning team is seeking Data Analytics Engineers to manage connected vehicle data projects. This role is crucial for supporting key vehicle launches and addressing current vehicle quality issues. The engineer will manage and support the triage of primarily Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) related issues during vehicle launches develop Connected Vehicle data solutions for internal customers and collaborate with engineering teams on the strategic use of data for problem-solving. ResponsibilitiesIn this position you will
- Collaborate with Product Development (PD) teams to extract summarize and analyze Connected Vehicle data to further understand and effectively problem-solve potential issues.
- Work with program launch teams plant resident engineers and program software/hardware engineers to classify and diagnose vehicle faults (DTCs) occurring at the plant dealership or reported by customers with the goal of implementing corrective actions to prevent warranty issues.
- Enhance the use of Connected Vehicle data (e.g. battery State of Charge - SOC data door ajar warning lights etc.) through the ideation and development of innovative tools and methods for problem-solving.
- Utilize and develop processes tools and methods to gain valuable insights from large volumes of Connected Vehicle data.
- Apply project management disciplines ensuring that risks are identified mitigated or escalated in a timely manner.
- Promote and utilize Agile Data Collection methods (RDR PARSED and CARMon) to support engineering problem-solving and data-driven decisions.
- Build strong and trusting relationships with business partners across Ford North American organizations.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications: Youll Have
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering Electrical Engineering or a Computer Science-related field.
- 2 years of experience in Big Data Analytics manipulating data to form unified datasets for analysis.
- 1 year of experience in query languages such as SQL HiveQL Google BigQuery or Spark.
- 1 year of experience in data visualization tools (Qlik Power BI Looker).
- Intermediate Python skills including the use of basic libraries (pandas numpy matplotlib etc.).
- High analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated individual with a high level of initiative.
- Proven effective organizational planning and time leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Even better you may have
- Web development/deployment knowledge.
- Machine Learning (ML) knowledge.
- Ability to understand how to ingest large datasets from a variety of sources (SQL Python Java Hadoop Alteryx Qlik Sense etc.).
- Knowledge of data management.
- Experience with Automotive systems features and/or components.
- Proficiency with GitHub and JIRA.
- Strong visualization skills to communicate data insights making data analysis measurable and understandable by business partners.
- Ability to break down complex problems to build and implement an action plan.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced sophisticated global environment.
- Ability to consistently perform at a high level of technical competence showing composure and decisiveness under pressure.
