About the role


Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is seeking a dedicated Creditor Relations Coordinator to assist the Client Services teams through a pivotal season of growth and transformation as CAP launches its refreshed Debt Help Service.


Reporting to the Solution Support Manager youll play a key role in creating pathways for clients experiencing financial hardship. Youll be responsible for developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with lenders and other sector stakeholders helping to ensure collaborative solutions benefit those we serve.


This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced purpose-driven environment and is committed to CAPs mission of ending money chaos in Aotearoa.


Key areas of responsibility include:


  • Conduct client-focused assessments to identify opportunities for positive debt outcomes including interest waivers write offs and settlement offers
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication of client pathways
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with lenders and sector stakeholders to support effective debt negotiations alongside the Financial Mentor team
  • Maintain thorough and up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation as well as relevant products services and/or conditions of lending
  • Champion and actively participate in organisation-wide rhythms and initiatives
  • Engage in CAPs Haerenga and outwork CAPs Haerenga Competencies

Youll also bring relevant experience for the role:


  • 12 months experience in a similar role
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • A strong growth developmental and learning mindset
  • Able to problem solve and to operate with a solutions-focused approach
  • Familiarity with budget worksheets financial plans cashflows and debt schedules
  • Able to notice improvement opportunities in existing processes and initiate projects or improvements
  • Strong time management with a capacity for large workloads and an attitude of completion
  • Strong skills in working collaboratively to maximise service delivery effectiveness and client experience outcomes
  • Excellent attention to detail
