As a Field Service Engineer you will play an integral role in providing outstanding service that exceeds our customers expectations. Your expertise and dedication will ensure our Trace Elemental Analysis systems (AAS ICP-OES ICP-MS) operate flawlessly helping our customers achieve their goals. Main responsibility:

  • Deliver all service activities including installation customer introduction repairs maintenance services and validation services in the Benelux
  • Achieve satisfied and committed customers.
  • Maintain the highest first-time fix rates and lowest mean time to repair.
  • Minimize repeated call rates.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal rules processes and practices.

Main Activities / Responsibilities:

  • Perform all service activities in line with internal rules and customer regulations at customer premises.
  • Provide responsive telephone support diagnostics and on-site services to exceed customer expectations and ensure their success.
  • Maintain professional relationships with our customer base to achieve dedication and advance issues as needed to resolve critical tasks swiftly.
  • Optimize your work schedule by coordinating with necessary partners for service planning and scheduling.
  • Accurately and timely report all activities as required such as Field Service Reports.
  • Align all customer site activities with the rest of Thermo Fisher Scientific and share important customer information with relevant teams (e.g. sales/lead generation).
  • Collaborate and support team members with your knowledge and expertise.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Professional background in Electronics Chemistry or Engineering at least BSc (HBO) or MSc level (University).
  • 1-5 years of experience servicing analytical equipment or equivalent applications specialist experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with users at various levels.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks with different priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal self-motivational and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in PC skills and installing necessary software packages.
  • Eagerness to learn and collaborate with colleagues.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Valid driving license.
  • Willingness to travel mainly within the appointed region but also across Europe and internationally for training or special calls.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English both verbal and written.
