Mt Gravatt Community Centre Inc. (MGCCI) is a not-for-profit community-based organization providing aged care and disability services a Neighborhood Centre social prescribing through Ways to Wellness and employment and training programs through Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW). We are a welcoming space for all offering a broad range of support to the local community. Our SQW programs play a key role in delivering accredited training and employment pathways for people facing barriers to work and education.
Position Overview
Were looking for a dynamic self-motivated and outcomes-driven Coordinator to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract (37.5 hours per week) to deliver 2 exciting Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) programs:
The position is available to commenced around Mid-September. This full-time role is paid in accordance with the relevant Social Community Homecare and Disability Services Industry (SCHADS) Award. It is ideal for someone passionate about supporting individuals facing barriers to employment and confident in program coordination workshop delivery and participant engagement. We are committed to providing holistic support creating an environment that removes employment barriers fosters successful training outcomes and empowers participants to make life-changing decisions that lead to financial independence.
As the SQW Coordinator you will manage the delivery of our Skilling Queenslanders for Work programs (SQW and RFW) including participant marketing and recruitment eligibility assessment workshop facilitation administration case management employment pathways and post-placement support. Strong networking skills are essential as you will collaborate with community organisations placement hosts employers and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). You will also mentor and support participants in overcoming barriers to education training and employment throughout the program and as needed afterward.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate both SQW projects including participant recruitment marketing promotion intake assessment and delivery of Employment Readiness Workshops.
Ensure compliance with contract guidelines and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
Build and maintain strong proactive relationships with key stakeholders.
Establish positive connections with local businesses placement providers and employers.
Demonstrate empathy and understanding of participants needs and barriers.
Develop and maintain tailored employment pathway plans to assist participants in securing employment.
Provide support with resumes cover letters and job applications.
Foster and maintain relationships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and placement providers to support participant engagement and address learning barriers.
Collaborate with RTOs to facilitate placement and work experience opportunities that enhance participant outcomes.
Represent MGCCI at relevant events networks meetings committees and public forums.
Prepare monthly progress/performance and annual reports as required.
Selection Criteria
Program or Community Sector Experience
Demonstrated experience coordinating Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) programs employment services or community-based projects with a strong background in the community or social services sector.
-Level Communication Skills
Proven ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences including strong written and verbal communication cultural sensitivity active listening and conducting intake and assessments.
Management Expertise
Experience in case management including supporting clients from diverse backgrounds with complex needs particularly those facing barriers to training employment and community participation.
of Employment & Community Support Systems
Sound understanding of current employment trends and the challenges impacting disadvantaged job seekers along with knowledge of available support services and resources.
to Work Independently and Deliver Results
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously meet program outcomes and contractual requirements and manage time effectively to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
