DHL Express currently has an opening for a Senior Manager of Process Engineering.
This position helps to plan utilization of facilities equipment materials and personnel to improve efficiency of operations in our Service Centers Gateways and Hubs throughout the Americas. The Senior Manager of Process Engineering also identifies emerging technology establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. This position may also contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts and also support various country PUD Hub and GW Engineers.
Location: Plantation FL or CVG Hub
Key Tasks & Accountabilities
Computer Vision AI programming interaction and trouble shooting
Manage and identify existing and emerging technologies processes and practices.
Forecasts facility staffing and material handling equipment needs in order to improve cost utilization service and efficiencies.
Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. Will contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts as required.
Conducts studies to determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow by analyzing production costs process flow charts and production schedules.
Recommends methods for maximizing the utilization of production facilities and personnel by restructuring job duties reorganizing work flow relocating workstations and equipment and purchasing equipment in adherence with governmental health safety and other regulations.
Prepares cost estimates for proposed projects and evaluates cost factors; recommends changes in each
Service Center/Gateway/Hub pertaining to cost control as well as time and motion work standards work methods personnel utilization service and quality.
Coordinates routing system changes with airline hub and ground network in order to optimize service cost.
Possesses the ability to innovate in a high growth industry
Monitors and evaluates service and cost management
Assumes project management responsibilities as necessary.
Works closely with the Gateway Compliance and Zero Defect teams to ensure the operations are driving quality through efficiency while adhering to compliance standards.
Works in conjunction with the Senior Industrial Engineer for AM supporting programs policies and procedures.
Manages Sr. Specialists position(s)
This role is designed to provide direct support to Service Centers Hubs and GTWs and indirect support to the overall AM NOEP Strategy Road Map.
Skills & Qualifications
- Recognized subject matter expert.
- Serves as prime consultant on highly significant matters relating to policies programs capabilities and long-range goals and objectives.
Proficient in programming languages: Python and SQL a must. Python (OpenCV TensorFlow PyTorch Scikit-Image Scikit-learn) SQL C Matlab Java.
- BS/BA in any engineering discipline and 7-10 years of increasingly diverse or complex applications in field of expertise or MS/MA and generally at least 5-7 years of experience in related field.
- Demonstrated experience driving process improvements and implementing projects.
- Mastery of existing and emerging technologies processes and practices.
- Develops new applications based on professional principles and theories.
- Spanish is not required but recommended.
- Ability to interface and drive results with management at all levels.
- Travel required below 50%
- Ability to work different shifts including third shift
