About the role
The role holder will execute distribution and promotional strategies for Penfolds to drive customer engagement and exceed annual budget within the on-trade channel.
Strengthen Penfolds dominance in Singapores on-trade wine category by expanding brand visibility and fostering direct relationships with key addition the role holder will gather and analyse market insights to provide actionable intelligence to support strategic decision-making.
Conduct training sessions for sales teams F&B staff distributors or retail teams on wine knowledge.Host events for internal teams or external customers to drive engagement and education.
Managing on-trade customers
Ensure that the on-trade customers achieve the goal objectives agreed with Penfolds:
Identify and develop business opportunities across HORECA membership clubs and associations
Build long-term strategic partnerships with key customers
Develop sales initiatives to strengthen brand presence and maximize revenue potential
Ensure high customer satisfaction through regular check-ins and reviews
Track performance against monthly budget and identify potential risk to the budget
Brand Distribution / Activation
Ensure brand availability and presence in on-trade outlets:
Work on the distribution plan and promotional activity calendar with the customers
Ensure best in class execution and significantly ramp up our priority brands availability and presence across on-trade outlets
Utilise market insights where relevant to drive category captaincy
Lead in market ahead of competitors and ensure proper execution of events and activities as well as driving the marketing agenda to increase brand awareness and brand engagement with consumers
Wine Training
Provide training and wine tastings:
Deliver structured wine training programsfor customers
Conduct guided tastings and masterclasses across various customer and trade segments
Maintain deep knowledge of the companys wine portfolio and competitor offerings
Communicate product stories unique selling points and wine pairings clearly and passionately
Competitors Analysis
Provide market intelligence:
Gather and input competitor intelligence
Pricing analysis of competitors products and ensure that we have the right positioning in the market
Provide information on any gaps in the market
Identify opportunities in the market to growing the Penfolds portfolio and recommending investment needs for future growth as appropriate
Presentation and communication of key issues impacting on the business
About you
Business related qualification
5 years of commercial experience within a major FMCG company; preferably in the wine and spirits industry
Excellent relationship building skills
Ability to do wine training to customers
A proven track record of performance and delivery
Strong problem-solving skills
Strong commercial acumen
Brand building oriented
Hands-on individual
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and drive decision making
Wine knowledge and passionate about the industry
Experience of complex and diverse market environments
Attention to detail
