Job Description
Examples of Duties
Direct fixed-route and para-transit bus drivers assign routes and equipment and keep Summit Stage transit system operational at all times. Please refer to the job description for a complete listing of position duties.
Typical Qualifications
- High School diploma plus minimum three years experience in public transit.
- Have extensive knowledge of the Summit Stage transit system.
- General knowledge of transit vehicle maintenance issues.
- Some computer knowledge including MS Office is required.
- Professional and friendly customer service personality.
- Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and DOT medical certification as required by the US Department of Transportation.
- Must have the physical ability to safely operate a transit bus.
- Will be required to pass the Summit Stage Driver Training program.
- Must be able to work independently and be willing to work shifts that vary from day to night weekdays and weekends.
- Must pass the Summit Stage driver training program.
- Class B CDL with passenger endorsement and no restrictions on air brakes required for duration of employment.
