Job Summary
The Innovation & Shopper Insights Manager is responsible for identifying evaluating and driving innovation opportunities within the Consumer Health portfolio (OTC and VMS). This role also leads the generation of shopper-centric insights to guide brand strategies product development commercial activation and in-store execution. The position plays a critical role in aligning consumer behavior with business opportunities to foster growth differentiation and market relevance.
Job Responsibilities
- Innovation:
- Lead the end-to-end innovation pipeline process from idea generation to launch readiness aligned with Consumer Health strategic priorities.
- Monitor trends in health wellness retail and consumer behavior to identify whitespace opportunities and unmet needs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing R&D Regulatory and Supply Chain to evaluate feasibility and viability of new product ideas.
- Develop business cases for new product concepts including sizing profitability and competitive benchmarking.
- Coordinate validation efforts such as concept testing prototyping and pilot launches.
- Shopper & Consumer Insights:
- Lead shopper research initiatives to understand purchase behavior barriers and motivators across channels (pharmacies e-commerce etc.).
- Translate insights into actionable recommendations to optimize marketing communication and activation strategies.
- Develop shopper personas journeys and occasions to guide brand planning and customer engagement.
- Support category management strategies with data-driven recommendations.
- Partner with commercial teams to refine in-store experiences and enhance point-of-sale effectiveness.
- Collaborate with external research agencies and data providers (e.g. Nielsen IQVIA) to access analyze and interpret relevant market information.
- Track and report KPIs on innovation performance and insights utilization.
- Foster a culture of curiosity agility and consumer obsession within the business unit.
Job Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in Marketing Business Administration or a related field..
- Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Strong background in market research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative).
- Experience leading cross-functional innovation projects and managing external vendors.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Proficient in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.
- Familiarity with data tools such as Nielsen Kantar IQVIA and consumer panel platforms.
- Experience:
- 5 years of experience in Pharmaceutical OTC or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods industries in innovation insights or brand development roles.
