We are looking for an experienced and committed Team Leader to oversee a group of 8 highly skilled Laboratory Technicians in the Analytical Method Development (AMD) Department at AGC biologics. As Team Leader you will play a pivotal role in planning daily operations ensuring high-quality and compliant execution of laboratory tasks and fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
The Role
As Team Leader in the Characterization and HPLC team your key responsibility will be to oversee coordinate and optimize the daily work of a team of 8 laboratory technicians engaged in analytical method development for biopharmaceuticals using HPLC and electrophoretic techniques (e.g. SEC IEX RP iCE CE-SDS).
You will report to the manager of the Characterization and HPLC team and work closely with managers scientists and project managers to ensure the team delivers high-quality results on time and in compliance with applicable standards.
Your Responsibilities
Lead support and inspire a team of 8 lab technicians.
Plan and prioritize daily and weekly tasks in close coordination with project leads.
Ensure timely execution of experimental work and documentation according to internal procedures and quality standards.
Monitor and balance workload across projects and individuals.
Conduct regular 1:1s and performance dialogues set development goals and provide feedback.
Foster a team culture built on collaboration ownership and continuous improvement.
Contribute to continuous optimization of workflows and lab processes.

The Department
The AMD Department consists of 30 dedicated and highly competent scientists and technicians organized into two sub-teams: Characterization & HPLC and Bioassay.
The department is responsible for:
Implementation and development of analytical procedures
Transfer of analytical methods to QC for validation
Analytical support to early-stage and late-stage process development
Characterization of biotherapeutic products and drug intermediates
AGC Biologics projects span from early preclinical development through all clinical phases to commercial supply. AMD also contributes to cross-functional project teams and the implementation of new analytical technologies.
We work closely with our counterparts at AGC Biologics facilities in Seattle (USA) Boulder (USA) Heidelberg (Germany) and Chiba (Japan). Our work environment is informal and collaborative fostering teamwork and a professional flexible attitude across the organization.
Your Profile
We are looking for a candidate with several of the following qualifications and characteristics:
Background and Experience
A scientific or technical background (e.g. BSc or MSc in laboratory technology biotechnology biochemistry pharmacy or equivalent).
At least 3 years of experience working in a laboratory environment within the life sciences or biopharma industry.
Hands-on experience with HPLC and electrophoretic techniques used in biopharmaceutical analysis (e.g. SEC IEX RP iCE CE-SDS).
Familiarity with troubleshooting of analytical instruments and equipment
Experience in leading or coordinating teams formally or informally (e.g. as project or technical lead).
Experience with planning lab work across multiple projects or stakeholders is an advantage.
Familiarity with the Danish labor market and working culture is a plus.
