Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) is seeking an instructor for its online year-long RISE (Research Inquiry Skills and Experimentation) course for students in grades 9-12. The course instructor guides RISE students through a series of 13 on-line learning modules where students learn how to find a testable question create a student research plan and conduct an in-depth study of a science topic of their choice. This course gives students the opportunity to participate in the community of scientific research and scholarship. Students are expected to utilize their work from this program to enter various science symposia.
This is a part-time 10 month exempt position. This position has the ability to be completed remotely and the course is mostly asynchronous. Expected hours will vary by the number of enrolled students but typically be up to 20 hours/week for a cohort of approximately 30 students. This position will begin as soon as possible through the end of May each year.

Work may be performed time is spent working on a computer. This role generally requires written and verbal communication and hearing and visual capabilities. However reasonable accommodations including assistive technology may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform such requirements.
COMPENSATION:
This position is a temporary part-time non-exempt 10-month employment-at-will position. This position pays $46/hour. As a temporary position this position is not benefits eligible.
