Job Description
Technical Centre China is strengthening the team and is seeking an engineer in the field of engineering or machinery subjects. The successful candidate will work in the business area Maritime within Region Greater China as part of the Approval section at Technical Centre China in Shanghai. The section delivers approval services and technical support to our clients.
As an Approval Engineer you will report to the Group Leader Electrical and Machinery within the Approval section.
Position description
The position offers great opportunity to work with colleagues across the disciplines and geographies of DNV to develop and deliver projects. You can develop personal and technical skills and solutions for our clients in various areas depending on qualifications and interests.
Typical tasks may include:
- Review of machinery components/system and pressure equipment documentation according to Class rules Statutory regulations and International standards
- Review of documentation related to different class notations such as TMON Dynamic Positioning (DPS/DYNPOS etc.) ICE/PC etc.
- Handle technicalquestions from internal and external clients
- Provide technical support to sales marketing and business development

Qualifications
Position qualifications
Competencies:
- Minimum Bachelors degree in Engineering or Machinery subjects
- Young talent and fresh graduate are welcomed to apply
- Deep knowledge of rotating machinery component technologies and pressure equipment applicable standards such as ASME PD EN would be considered an advantage
Personal characteristics:
- Open minded service-oriented and proactive attitude towards customers
- Positive and optimistic attitude towards work and daily challenges
- Good cooperation and communication behavior both with internal and external clients
- Willingness to support and share the knowledge to other colleagues
- Good communication skills in both English and Chinese verbally and in writing
