Maintenance Electrician

Job Description Summary

Job Description

Requirements:

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License for the state of MA

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • 12 years of experience in electrical work (internships or apprenticeships acceptable)

  • Basic understanding of HVAC and building systems

  • Willingness to learn and follow safety codes (OSHA NEC NFC)

  • Ability to work independently and in a team

  • Basic computer and communication skills

  • Valid drivers license (if required)

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct building tours and report equipment issues.

  • Assist with assembling installing and testing electrical wiring and fixtures.

  • Help diagnose and fix basic electrical problems using hand tools and test equipment.

  • Connect wires to breakers transformers and other components under supervision.

  • Inspect systems for safety and code compliance.

  • Support management with safety assessments.

  • Test circuits and systems to ensure proper function.

  • Follow local codes and safety procedures.

  • Read blueprints to locate wiring and equipment.

  • Assist with installing ground leads and power cables.

  • Maintain records prepare reports and help order supplies.

  • Work from ladders and scaffolds to install or repair equipment.

  • Pull wires through conduit to complete circuits.

  • Participate in monthly generator tests and annual load bank testing.

  • Help with emergency response and equipment operation.

  • Learn and follow SOPs for building systems.

  • Understand basic building automation and control wiring.

  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures.

  • Work as part of a team and respond to tenant requests.

  • Maintain attendance and provide quality service.

  • Assist other trades and respond to emergencies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
