Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree and 2 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or related field.

Additional years of accounting experience.

Experience in accounting/finance and knowledge of/experience with USGAAP(Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Demonstrated technical skills including software for data management communication and spreadsheets (Microsoft Office Suite highly preferred).

Experience with Deltek-CostPoint or otherERP(Enterprise Resource Planning) software.

Experience with federal government (DOEor similar) policies and procedures.

Ames Laboratory is seeking an Accountant II or III. This position will support the functional area (i.e. travel accounts payable payroll property/fixed assets) within the Ames Laboratory Finance Office. The Accountant will perform professional accounting functions including development and preparation of specialized accounting reports and financial statements review and analysis of accounting and financial transactions and data collection and preparation of accounting schedules.

In addition to the duties listed above the Accountant III level will be expected to be the lead for the team and perform financial management special assignments to support overall functions of the Ames Laboratory Finance Department.

The successful candidate will possess strong attention to detail and above average analytical and mathematical skills. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written as well as the ability to interact with a diverse constituency of individuals are necessary for success in this position. This position will interact with individuals both within and external to the University campus. The ability to analyze and solve problems and to develop new or improve existing procedures will be an important component of this position.

Required Qualifications:

Accountant II: Bachelors degree and 2 years of related experience

Accountant III: Bachelors degree and 5 years of related experience
