Student Affairs Generalist, Dual Enrollment

Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a student affairs generalist for dual enrollment to provide support to students who are enrolled in the colleges dual enrollment and early college programs; assist with student orientation activities; and represent the college to high schools and other organizations at community events under the leadership of the director of dual enrollment and early college initiatives. This position is required to periodically work evenings and weekends including participating in the annual commencement. The schedule may vary and will include evening and weekend hours on a rotating basis; schedule typically is Mon. - Thur. 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Fri. 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

• With guidance from the director and advisors provides holistic academic advising services to dual enrollment and early college students including proactive advising and responding to alerts submitted by faculty; conducts transitional appointments at the end of the senior year of high school to discuss degree programs at Wor-Wic and financial resources such as scholarships grants and opportunity programs and/or provides transfer counseling and preparation
• Provides support/assistance to all related dual enrollment administrative functions and events including but not limited to maintaining data records of student participants producing related reports as needed preparing for and executing events and event materials and providing targeted outreach communication and follow-up
• Utilizes college software (Ellucian CRM Advise and Ellucian Student Planning) to develop academic success plans and monitor student progress; develops a thorough understanding of these technologies and engages in continuous training on how to best utilize systems to provide high quality service to advisees
• Maintains relationships with school district guidance counselors to assist students as they prepare for dual enrollment courses and works with parents/guardians of high school students to address any concerns regarding dual enrollment or early college courses
• Assists the director of dual enrollment and early college initiatives with orientation activities for dual enrollment and early college students and collegewide new student welcome activities
• Possesses and maintains a thorough understanding of all departmental and institutional policies and procedures needed to accurately advise students including but not limited to financial aid policies transfer requirements academic and continuing education curriculum career/program assessment payment policies student success resources and any other information that may benefit students during the advising process
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Associate degree
• Two years of administrative or teaching experience (two additional years of related work experience can be substituted for the educational requirement)
• Evidence of successful collaborations and using assessment and data as part of decision-making
• Ability to work with a diverse population and understand their unique needs
• Demonstrated success with programming and outreach related to student advising
• Demonstrated ability to work on sensitive confidential and complicated issues with discretion
• Must be a creative dynamic individual who can work independently and under general supervision to provide courteous and accurate customer service to all students visitors and campus community both in-person and virtually
• Strong computer organizational human relations and verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
• Preference will be given to candidates who possess:
  • A bachelors degree
  • Experience working in a college university or high school setting preferably as an academic advisor in post-secondary education
  • Bilingual English/Creole skills

This is a part-time temporary support staff position that does not include benefits. The schedule may vary and includes evening and weekend hours on a rotating basis. A typical schedule is Mon. - Thur. 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. and Fri. 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. with up to 20 hours per week on most weeks.
