Make a difference as Researcher Doubled Haploid Technology
As aResearcher Doubled Haploid Technology you will play a key role in developing new protocols for doubled haploid production and overcoming bottlenecks in existing methodologies. Youll leverage your expertise incell biology and plant tissue culture while bringing in fresh out-of-the-box ideas to explore and apply the latest scientific discoveries when needed. Your work will involve close collaboration with other Cell Technology experts as well as cross-functional teams in Biotechnology and Breeding to secure new/stable doubled haploid production pipelines to speed up vegetable variety development.
Your tasks will include:
Leading & executing research projects focused on Doubled Haploid Technology;
Scouting for new technologies in the field of cell and tissue culture;
Working closely with our Cell Technology Applications teams to translate your research into scalable applications for breeding programs.
You will be part of the Cell Technology (CT) department where we collaborate with Biotechnology and Breeding to deliver plants with varied genetic value. Our core research areas include protocol development for doubled haploids genome doubling genome editing transgenesis mutagenesis micropropagation in vivo/in vitro plant growth and more.
What you bring as a future colleague
MSc with at least 5 years of relevant experience or PhD with at least 2 years relevant experience in (green) life sciences plant biology/biotechnology. Experience in the plant breeding industry is a strong advantage;
Solid knowledge and hands-on experience in doubled haploid technology including supporting techniques such as genome doubling;
Proven experience in project management;
Hands-on passionate about plant cell biology and its potential;
Collaborative team player with independence and perseverance;
Solution-oriented capable of prioritizing decision making and planning;
Fluent English and comfortable working in an international team.
