Founded in 2020 and based in the heart of Paris C12s mission is to be at the center of one of the biggest technological breakthroughs of the century and change the course of history by building a universal quantum computer.
At C12 we believe that achieving a true breakthrough in quantum computing requires rethinking the fundamentals. Thats why our foundersdeeply rooted in academic and engineering excellencehave chosen carbon nanotubes as the building blocks of our quantum processors. This ultra-pure material dramatically reduces error rates boosts performance and minimizes hardware overheadkey ingredients for scalable fault-tolerant quantum computing. By crafting a unique approach that scales we aim to revolutionize quantum computing just as silicon transformed classical computing.
Since our founding weve raised over 25 million in funding published 11 scientific papers and secured 8 patents. Today our fast-growing team of 60 including 20 PhDs has over 20 nationalities represented. We have our own cutting-edge lab spaces in Paris historic Panthon district where scientists engineers and innovators work side-by-side to tackle some of the most exciting technical challenges of our time.
If youre passionate about shaping the future of quantum technology and want to make a real impact C12 offers a unique environment to grow learn and innovate.
Your role at C12 Quantum Electronics :
As a Quantum Hardware Researcher you will join the theory team under the supervision of an experienced physicist on our technology. Your goal is to participate in the development of theoretical models to better understand the physics of our hardware and support our experimentalists for the interpretation of their data. This covers the understanding of the physics of our materials and design as well as the optimisation and design of logical operations and measurement protocols.
Your tasks will include:
Develop deeper understanding of the physics of the hardware
Support the experimental teams in interpreting their data by developing useful models or tools for them to fit their data
Support the engineering and product team in building our roadmaps
Collaborating with domain experts to translate business problems into challenges tractable by quantum algorithms
Presenting research findings in technical discussions and journal publications
About you:
You have significant experience preferably a PhD in quantum physics or related topics
You are familiar with the theory of decoherence in quantum physics
You are familiar with light matter interaction in physics
You have past experience in some programming languages such as python or C/C
You are able to collaborate across diverse teams of expert engineers from various backgrounds (chemistry experimental physics mathematics engineering )
Great verbal and written communication in English
What we offer:
Flexible rhythm of remote work
