JOB SUMMARY:
The Procurement Lead for Dangote Cement Transport is responsible for managing all procurement activities related to transportation ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of haulage services. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organizations goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for transportation that enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and ensure competitive pricing.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with transport vendors to secure favorable terms.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to improve service delivery.
- Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to align procurement with delivery schedules.
- Ensure compliance with company policies legal regulations and quality standards.
- Provide reports on procurement activities and performance metrics to senior management.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders including internal departments and external suppliers.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management Logistics Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in procurement preferably within the transportation or cement industry.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems particularly SAP.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes and logistics management.
- High ethical standards and integrity in procurement practices.
