Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Procurement Lead for Dangote Cement Transport is responsible for managing all procurement activities related to transportation ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of haulage services. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organizations goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for transportation that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and ensure competitive pricing.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with transport vendors to secure favorable terms.
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to improve service delivery.
  • Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to align procurement with delivery schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies legal regulations and quality standards.
  • Provide reports on procurement activities and performance metrics to senior management.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders including internal departments and external suppliers.



Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management Logistics Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in procurement preferably within the transportation or cement industry.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems particularly SAP.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes and logistics management.
  • High ethical standards and integrity in procurement practices.
