Job Description
Lecturer Accounting Finance and Business
Griffith College Cork is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching in Accounting Finance and Business disciplines. The ideal candidate will hold a Level 9 qualification (or higher) in a relevant field and bring academic or professional experience to inspire and engage our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures seminars and workshops in areas such as Accounting Finance and Business.
- Develop innovative teaching materials and assessments aligned with industry and academic standards.
- Work within QA approved guidelines to assess student work and submissions.
- Support student learning and progression through mentoring and academic feedback.
- Contribute to curriculum development and ensure alignment with professional body standards (e.g. ACCA CIMA).
- Engage with industry professionals to bring real-world context to the classroom.
- Participate in departmental meetings academic reviews and programme administration.
Requirements
- Level 9 qualification (or equivalent) in Accounting Finance Business or a related field.
- Proven teaching ability and/or professional experience in accounting finance or business.
- Strong interpersonal communication and IT skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain academic and professional standards.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and digital learning tools.
Desirable
- Professional qualification (e.g. ACCA CPA CIMA CFA).
- Experience designing course content and assessment tools.
- Awareness of current trends and developments in the financial/business sector.
Mock Lecture Requirement
As part of the interview candidates will deliver a 510 minute mock lecture on a selected topic to a panel acting as students. The session should focus on a specific concept and demonstrate teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
