Tenure: Full Time Permanent
Salary Range:$78202-$82007 per annum pending experience
Closing Date:Monday 8 September 2025 unless filled prior

About the role
Good Shepherd Catholic College Mount Isais seeking an experienced and dedicatedCareers and Alumni Officer to commence on 12 January 2026 Term 1 2026This role is a full time permanent position completing 38 hours per week.
The Careers and Alumni Officer will be required to have a detailed knowledge of careers education and pathways. The position will work collaboratively with the College Leadership Team and other key staff to ensure career development of the students. The position will develop up to date information on career pathway plans and focus on embedding career experiences at the College.
The Careers and Alumni Officer assists students by linking career and subject choice to learning with the provision of support advice information and resource to assist in planning. They are also the manager for Alumni at the College.
About You
Experience
- Previous experience displaying professional and effective interpersonal communication and liaison skills with both internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the tertiary and VET sectors
- Proven ability establishing links to the workplace via networking
- Proven ability to embrace and contribute to new approaches when working in a change environment.
Skills
- Ability to develop and manage the Colleges career experiences and pathway plans
Attributes
- Supports productive relationships with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Ability to organise work manage own time to meet deadlines and be adaptable in response to changing priorities
- High level of attention to detail and recognition of the importance of accuracy in all aspects of the work
- Ability to show initiative flexibility solve problems and contribute to process improvement in a complex environment
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with a range of stakeholders including students staff and parents.
Mandatory Criteria
- Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card No Start policy developed by Queensland Government.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field or equivalent experience
- Current Drivers Licence
- Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
Desirable Criteria
- Relevant industry experience in the education sector.
