Job Duties
The purpose of this position is to incorporates oversight and auditing of clinical records particularly in areas such as seclusion and restraint. Furthermore the inclusion of the component of Clinical Review Specialist duties adds depth to the team ensuring a thorough examination of clinical practices and enhancing overall compliance and quality assurance efforts. The Nurse Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of clinical records providing guidance and oversight essential for maintaining compliance with established standards and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Psychiatric/clinical nursing expertise.
Demonstrated knowledge of inpatient psychiatric treatment and documentation requirements to meet State and Federal Medicaid regulations.
HIPPA and Compliance regulations
Skilled in analyzing complex clinical documentation to identify discrepancies and recommends improvements facilitating ongoing quality enhancement efforts
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with clinicians administrators and patients patients families and external agencies.
Basic computer proficiency with typing and knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
Additional Considerations
License to work as a Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia or compact license.
Completion of nursing program through accredited nursing school.
Clinical delivery experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting required.
Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills a must.
