Head of Engineering | $150K-$180K + remote | High-Growth Contact Center SaaS/AI Company

Were looking for a head of engineering who can balance hands-on execution with strong leadership in both technology and team direction. This role is ideal for someone with a B2B SaaS and startup backgroundsomeone who thrives in fast-paced environments is adaptable and can deliver scalable solutions from the ground up.

Youll be leading the technical direction across two key product verticals - Contact Center Solutions and Smart Payment Gateways. These are distinct but complementary domains and experience in either (or both) industries is highly valued. With the company actively pushing AI adoption across its platforms youll also play a key role in integrating AI-powered capabilities into core products to enhance automation personalization and decision-making.

Agile Development:

• Design build and scale core platform features while also leading engineering best practices.
• Write production-ready code make architectural decisions review pull requests and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Collaborate closely with product QA and DevOps to ensure smooth delivery and alignment with business goals.
• Lead the team in agile methodologies including managing sprint cycles backlog grooming and task prioritization.
• Work closely with the Product team to ensure clear communication of project requirements and timelines.
• Continuously improve the teams agile processes to enhance productivity and morale.

Leadership & Strategy:

• Mentor and support engineering team members while fostering a culture of ownership and innovation.
• Help shape the engineering roadmap in close collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Align technical execution with customer needs and long-term company vision.
• Provide strategic direction for the development team ensuring alignment with company goals and product vision.
• Drive best practices for code quality testing and deployment ensuring the team adheres to these standards.

AI Development:

• Integrate AI capabilities into SaaS productssuch as using APIs or custom-built ML modelsto improve features like intelligent routing predictive analytics chatbots fraud detection and data-driven insights.
• Asses where AI adds the most value and work with cross-functional teams to implement these solutions efficiently.

Qualifications :

• 6-10 years of engineering experience with LAMP stack: PHP 8 (Laravel framework) MySQL Linux and AWS.
• Proven experience in leading and scaling technology teams ideally in a fast paced environment similar to a startup.
• Demonstrated experience integrating AI and ML capabilities into SaaS products.
• Experience with Python (big bonus) Node React Angular Jquery is a plus but not required. 
• Healthcare or FinTecch experience is a plus.
• Deep understanding of version control systems (e.g. Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of web application architecture microservices and cloud-based solutions.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and experience leading agile teams.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams including Product DevOps and QA.
• Strong experience in leading cross-functional engineering teams mentoring engineering talent and fostering an innovative culture.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback foster a positive team culture and guide team members in their career growth.
• Extremely organized and self-sufficient with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing requirements.
