How youll contribute
ADrug and Alcohol Counselor who excels in this role:
- Provide service coordination (case management) for assigned consumers in the community (outside of traditional office settings.) and provide on-call crisis coverage.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide ongoing monitoring of mental illness symptoms.
- Act as liaison and consult with community agencies and families to maintain coordination in the treatment process.
- Coordinates immediately with psychiatric inpatient service providers when indicated to ensure that lengths of stay are utilized most appropriately and take a lead role in rehabilitation with outside services when detoxification is necessary and establish linkage to outpatient self-help programs and residential facilities.
- Provide individual and group substance use counseling.
- Provide ongoing assessment problem solving skills training supervision and environmental adaptations to assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs).

What were looking for
The requirements listed below are below representative of the knowledge skills and abilities required:
High school diploma or equivalent or combination of education and experience required for the job
Bachelors degree in social work psychology sociology or related field preferred.
1 year of experience
BCLS upon completion of hospital orientation
Bilingual and/or English Spanish speaking preferred and ability to work with culturally diverse population.
