About the role
Our Auckland based finance team is looking for a law clerk to join us in January 2026. This is an interesting and challenging role that will suit an enthusiastic self-starter who enjoys cultivating strong working relationships.
This role will ideally suit someone whois keen to kick off their career in law in a top firm andhas a keen interest in the commercial and finance world. As the successful candidate you will be working directly with four of New Zealands leading finance partners Cathryn Barber Gerard Souness Michael Harper and Luke Ford. The team advises some of New Zealands largest companies on their borrowing needs in addition to acting for all major domestic and international lending institutions.
As a part of the team you will have exposure to work in acquisition corporate property and project financing debt capital markets agency and syndicated lending securitisation and restructuring and insolvency. There is a wide variety of work to get involved in with great opportunities for growth and finding your pathway.
Being thrown in the deep end is great for learning and development however we always pair this with a strong support network (three other finance law clerks will be joining alongside you) and buddy system. As a successful law clerk in our finance team you will be given the room to take initiative and showcase your skills while having a close-knit team to back you up.
