JOB TITLE: Accountant
JOB LOCATIONS:Ibadan Oyo and Lagos
JOB DETAILS:
ADVERTISEMENT
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles financial reporting and compliance.
- The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records preparing reports and ensuring accuracy and integrity in all financial transactions.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
- Analyse financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making.
General Ledger Management:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and reported.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Ensure timely payment of invoices and collection of receivables.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Compliance and Auditing:
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Assist with internal and external audits providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Tax Preparation and Filing:
- Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with local state and federal regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
Payroll Management:
- Process payroll and ensure accurate and timely payment to employees.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Financial Systems and Software:
- Utilize accounting software and tools to manage financial data.
- Implement and improve financial processes and systems.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
- Ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Professional accounting certification (e.g. CPA ACCA) preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP Oracle).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
