Job Summary
We seek a highly skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems hardware and software. They will respond to queries run diagnostic programs isolate problems and implement solutions to ensure optimal performance and usability of desktop systems.
Responsibilities
Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems software and hardware.
Install configure and maintain desktop hardware software and peripherals.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues remotely or on-site including troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
Set up and configure new desktop computers and peripheral devices.
Perform hardware and software upgrades and repairs as needed.
Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure efficient operation of the desktop computing environment.
Maintain inventory of desktop equipment software licenses and other IT assets.
Document technical procedures configurations and troubleshooting steps.
Train end-users on essential computer functions and software applications.
Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding IT security and data protection.
Stay current with technological advancements and industry best practices.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
Proven experience as a Desktop Support Technician or similar role.
Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems including Windows and macOS.
Experience with desktop hardware components and peripherals.
Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Certifications such as CompTIA A or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) are a plus.
Education & Experience
Bachelors and Associate Degree in Computer Science Education Information Technology Technical Associates Information Systems Business Graduate Technology Computer Preferred.
Minimum of one year equivalent experience.
Job Type: Full-time Day Shift
Pay: $29.00 - $34.00 per hour
