Job Duties
The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Medical Facilities Inspector in the Program Operations Division.
Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Independently reviews process and provide analysis of Involuntary Temporary Detention Order (TDO) and Emergency Custody Order (ECO) admissions/duration to ensure they do not exceed the the period authorized in Virginia Code 37.1-67.1 16.1-340 Subdivision A2 of 19.2-169.6 Subdivision A2 of 19.2 - 176 19.2 - 177.1 pr 19.2 - 182.9 of the State Plan of Virginia.
Make determinations for reimbursement by the interpretation of services provided to ensure coverage is related to the TDO/ECO for psychiatric evaluation and treatment or cause of injury resulting from mental illness.
Review and make Medical Assistance Program (MAP) Adjustment determinations for nursing facility residents

Minimum Qualifications
Competitive candidates will meet these minimum qualifications:
Knowledge of medical terminology durable medical equipment and medical claims.
Knowledge of a medical claim system and the adjudication process for payment.
Experience establishing guidelines policies and procedures for the review and/or interpretation of medical records.
Knowledge/Experience providing support or the development of agency/company programs or initiatives.
Knowledge of personal computers including word processing creating letters and spreadsheets to track data.
Knowledge/Experience with interpretation and application of federal and state regulations.
Experience meeting deadlines.
Experience with internal/external stakeholders.
Additional Considerations
Competitive candidates will meet these additional considerations:
Experience with DMAS Medicaid Enterprise System - Medical Management Information System (MES-MMIS).
Experience with Medicaid Eligibility determination process.
