JOB SUMMARY:
Provides the highly skilled discipline specific technical skills needed for the successful operation installation and maintenance of the Rigging and Staging elements for assigned Entertainment venues projects events and productions to ensure highest levels of show quality and a positive guest experience.
Responsible for following all policies and procedures including high-risk for assigned area and team as defined by ANSI ESTA and Universal Orlando governing the safe operation of all technical equipment.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Will act as a ground rigger while assisting with installation / strike of the rigging and staging equipment within the assigned venue project or event. Assists with the preparation loading unloading and transportation of rigging and staging gear and other equipment and materials.
- Assisting with the use and operation of the rigging and staging equipment within the assigned venue project or event.
- Responsible for the appropriate maintenance of rigging and staging equipment under the supervision of the Lead Tech 1.
- Operates large vehicles and heavy equipment. Acts as a spotter and provides correct hand signals for vehicles to protect UOs assets.
- Assists in inspecting departments equipment inventory.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy procedures training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Technical school is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- 0-2 years experience within the assigned technical discipline.
Preferred:
- Prior experience within the professional theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity (Rigging and Staging); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:
- A Valid Florida Drivers License is required to operate company vehicles.
- UO (Universal Orlando) provided annual training is required for heavy equipment operation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by the Entertainment Department governing the safe operation of all technical equipment.
- As directed may assist in technical training and implementation of all training materials. Maintains and shares job knowledge and assists in developing Team Members.
- This position will be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions and will need to access building rooftops via fixed ladders & open staircases.
