Job Summary:
Catawba Two Kings Casino is seeking a Director of Training & Development to join our this role you will be responsible for designing implementing and overseeing programs that enhance the skills performance productivity and overall development of employees across the organization. This role leads the training function collaborates with leadership to identify learning needs and ensures alignment with strategic business goals.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with organizational goals.
Lead the design delivery and evaluation of training programs including onboarding leadership development compliance training and professional development.
Assess organizational development needs through surveys interviews performance metrics and consultation with managers.
Create and manage the learning and development budget ensuring cost-effective solutions.
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback testing and performance outcomes and revise programs as needed.
Lead a team of trainers instructional designers and development specialists providing coaching and performance oversight.
Partner with senior leadership to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Select and manage relationships with external training vendors and consultants.
Stay current with trends in training adult learning theories e-learning technologies and leadership development.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Education Organizational Development or a closely related field required (Masters degree in a similar area of focus preferred)
Seven (7) years experience in training & development with at least five (5) years of experience in a leadership role or a combination of experience education and training in a role that required development of staff for career advancement.
Prior experience in the hospitality industry a plus.
Prior experience working in a tribal environment and directly supporting the growth and development of tribal members a plus.
Proven experience designing and implementing successful training paths/programs.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Catawba Gaming License.
Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Strong leadership team management and project management skills.
Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
Knowledge of adult learning principles training design methodologies and learning technologies.
Ability to assess ROI of training programs and link outcomes to business results.
Experience in Learning Management Systems (LMS) instructional design tools and e-learning platforms.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing using the English language.
Ability to work an alternate schedule as needed including weekends and holidays.
Ability to work in a loud fast-paced environment (may occasionally be exposed to second-hand cigarette smoke).
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; bend to open/use lower drawers or cabinetry; to talk hear and see. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
