Job Description

Shangri-La Kyoto Nijojo

Based in Hong Kong the Shangri-La Group operates hotels across the Asia-Pacific region join Shangri-La a successful pioneer in Asian hospitality and gain quality experience.

Shangri-La Kyoto Nijojo is scheduled to open in late 2026. We are seeking a contract employee to take charge of pre-opening preparations including handover of the building and overseeing the hard aspects of the hotel in close coordination with our headquarters. We welcome candidates with experience in construction hotel engineering or hotel pre-opening projects who are proficient in both Japanese and English. Responsibilities

  • Coordination between the construction site (Taisei Corporation) and the head office
  • Manage compliance related to interior design and engineering
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders and manage progress for pre-opening preparations

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience in new hotel openings
  • Knowledge of hotel engineering operations and construction
  • Strong communication skills in both Japanese and English

Employment Details

  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Employment Type: Fixed-term contract (approximately 14 months)
  • Expected Annual Salary: TBA
  • Location: Kyoto (residency required)
