Finance Controller
Classification: Full time Permanent
Salary: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

Summary
TheFinance Controller will oversee the financial operations of Esdilagh First Nation and ensure accuracy in accounting practices. The Finance Controller will have a strong understanding of financial reporting compliance and budgeting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial reports for Chief & Council
- Manage all aspects of accounting including accounts payable accounts receivable payroll and general ledger functions
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Communicate financial metrics to senior management
- Conduct account reconciliation and analysis to maintain accurate financial records
- Develop and implement budgeting processes to support organizational goals
- Prepare monthly and annual operating budgets
- Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with Esdilaghs procedures
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes
- Ensure the integrity of financial data by implementing effective internal controls
- Oversee all tax filings statutory reporting and liaise with external auditors
- Ensure all files are organized and maintained and all office processes are streamlined for most efficient and effective operation
Requirements
- 5 years Controller experience leading a finance/ accounting team
- Advanced knowledge of Canadian financial accounting practices
- CPA an asset
- Strong leadership analytical and communication skills
- Experience with financial software (e.g. Sage) and advanced Excel skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic evolving environment and manage multiple priorities
Working Conditions
- Travel may be required
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and additional hardware
- Overtime as required
- Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required
