The James Madison University Police Department is seeking a knowledgeable detail oriented Part-Time Accreditation Manager to lead manage and coordinate all aspects of our current state accreditation and pursue national accreditation for our law enforcement and public safety programs. This role is critical in ensuring our departments operations meet and exceed professional standards and best practices in public safety and law enforcement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate the full national accreditation process including initial certification and ongoing compliance.

Manage all aspects of the VALEPC program ensuring timely submission of required documentation and reports.

Develop review and maintain policies and procedures in alignment with accreditation standards.

Serve as the primary point of contact with national and state accreditation commissions.

Train and support staff on accreditation requirements and best practices.

Conduct internal audits and assessments to ensure continued compliance.

Organize and maintain detailed records files and accreditation documentation.

Prepare for and coordinate on-site assessments and audits.

Monitor and report progress to leadership regularly.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
Proven experience with accreditation or a similar law enforcement/public safety accreditation process.

Strong understanding of public safety standards policies and procedures.

Excellent organizational project management and communication skills.

Ability to work independently.


Additional Considerations:
Familiarity with policy management software and digital recordkeeping tools.

Additional Posting Information:

Part-time position: e.g. 15-25 hours per week; flexible scheduling available.

Hybrid/remote work may be considered based on agency needs.

Conditions of Employment:

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.

This is a part-time wage position with no benefits.
