Job Description:

The Specialist will participate in: (1) the financial statement closing process including preparation/processing of journal entries; (2) the preparation of accounts reconciliation schedule and internal information for management financial controls and auditors; (3) regulatory reporting and payments to IC BIR and SEC; (4) internal controls internal audit business initiatives; (5) participate in the IFRS 17 activities; and (6) perform other administrative functions.

Since the nature of the job requires mostly financial reporting and preparation reconciliation schedules the issues that are usually faced by this job includes the following:
Preparation of documents and reconciliations of accounts required by Financial Control and internal/external audit.
Investigating and resolving the reconciling items within the prescribed timeline.
Completion of regulatory reports such as quarterly IC reports annual statements and income tax computation.
Qualifications (heading) / Comptences (titre)
Experience in financial reporting and/or preparation of accounting schedules.
Knowledge and expertise in tax rules and regulations and various accounting standards such as PFRS and Local Statutory Requirements.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Good organizational skills (planning time management and priority management); able to timely meet internal and/or external deadlines.
Good verbal and written communications skills plus good listening skills
Advanced analytical comprehension and presentation skills.
Proficiency in use of Microsoft Word Excel and Powerpoint.
Education and experience
1. Bachelors degree in accountancy
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Designation
3. With basic understanding of the Accounts Reconciliation process
4. At least 2-year experience in audit firm and/or financial statements preparation of a financial institution.
Responsibilities (heading) / Responsabilits (titre)
Financial Accounting and Reporting
1. This position is responsible in overseeing the monthly reconciliation functions which include the following activities:
preparation of the reconciliation packages to ensure full compliance with the Accounts Reconciliation Standard;
monitoring and resolution of reconciling items to ensure that the account balances are reasonably stated;
communication and coordination with the different business units to resolve outstanding reconciling items; and
identification of the control issues and areas for improvement within the reconciliation function
2. Participate in financial statement closing process including the preparation/processing of journal entries ensuring that such are recorded accurately and in accordance with the prescribed monthly cut-off.
3. Handle filings/reporting/payment requirements to IC BIR and SEC ensuring that all regulatory reports are filed and/or paid on or before due date.
4. Provide financial information required by management external auditors and various government regulatory bodies. Standard reports to deliver include schedules and reports to IC BIR SEC and Financial Controls Team.
5. Participate in the preparation of Quarterly Reports and Annual Statements to be submitted to IC.
6. Handle income tax computation for reporting and filing to BIR.
Internal Controls and Internal Audit
Documents the processes and procedures involving financial accounting and reporting.
Regular review and update of existing guidelines processes and procedures to effect necessary changes/improvements.
Participate in the preparation of audit requirements for internal auditors.
Support Companys Initiatives
Participate in the system enhancements process documentation / improvements preparation of requirements for new products and other Finance priorities.
Administrative Functions
Organize and maintain filing/monitoring of all documents submitted to IC BIR and SEC in hard copies (if required) and scanned copies.
Manages inquiry from the internal stakeholders auditors and regulators related to the assigned tasks.
Communication scope
This person will be frequently communicating with various internal and external stakeholders such as Finance Operations Investment IT Legal and Compliance Internal and External Auditors and Regulators.
