About the job
As a Static Equipment Engineer you will be responsible for designing mechanical equipment particularly complex vessels for food systems and specifying mechanical components. You will coordinate the work of other designers on the project ensuring the quality of drawings and maintaining design consistency. Additionally you will ensure fabrication quality and assist with workshop inspections. A proactive approach is essential focusing on delivering high-quality results and meeting rigorous standards. Key tasks:
Coordinate with the project team to develop and/or coordinate the development of drawings
Preparation of technical specifications and data sheets for mechanical equipment including pressure vessels tanks and other process equipment
Ensure the required services meet Alfa Laval customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements on time and within budget
Review vendor documentation and drawings
Review/perform strength calculation (Pressure vessels mainly including FEA)
Specify mechanical components including piping fittings agitators distributors etc.
Secure the design and verification process for appointed equipment and secure and support the standardization of designs and products across the project.
At Alfa Laval we embrace a hybrid work model providing you the flexibility to work from home when it aligns with your tasks. This position is based at our Copenhagen office in Sborg with an expected travel commitment of approximately 35 - 45 days per year.
What you know
You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and extensive experience in the design and calculation of Pressure Vessels as well as a strong technical foundation. Your expertise includes advanced knowledge in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and proficiency in one or more leading FEA software packages. You are proactive and focused on high quality and standards of work. To succeed in this position you must:
Possess experience in designing static equipment and knowledge of mechanical systems and/or pressure tank manufacturing
Know Pressure vessel design rules as per international standards (i.e. ASME Section VIII-Div. 1 and EN 13445)
Have general knowledge of industry standards and best practices including EN ISO ASME ASTM ANSI and API among others
Possess highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and be able to consistently deliver quality accurate and timely work to peers and customers
Have knowledge about welding and quality inspections which would be an advantage
Possess experience within the Oil and gas industry which would be an advantage.
