The Opportunity

Mawer Investment Management is seeking a Business Analyst (BA) to join our Project Management Office (PMO) to support the vision of a Digitally Enabled Counsellor Team for the Private Wealth group. This position will play a key role in enabling more value-added time through digital tools process improvements and automation. You will work cross-functionally to analyze document and deliver business solutions that enhance the client experience streamline internal processes and support the ongoing evolution of our Private Wealth strategy.

This position requires a client-centric mindset an understanding of portfolio management and wealth planning experience with Customer Relationship Management Investment Management systems and related data structures as well as the ability to provide improvement solutions for complex and interdependent business processes.

Role Responsibilities

  • Gather and document business requirements for business and digital initiatives including the Client Portal and related enhancements (user management migration onboarding automation self-serve features security document management etc.)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Private Wealth Investment Operations Portfolio Management Research Finance and Compliance to define and prioritize business needs and solutions
  • Facilitate workshops document and evaluate information gathered from multiple sources reconcile conflicts decompose business needs to requirements user stories etc.
  • Analyze and map current and future state business processes identifying opportunities for improvement and alignment with strategic objectives
  • Support the implementation of new features and ongoing enhancements to client-facing platforms ensuring alignment with client-centric and regulatory requirements
  • Collect and analyze feedback to inform prioritization and continuous improvement of digital solutions
  • Facilitate change management activities to drive adoption of new tools and processes
  • Create project documentation as required (Functional Requirements Business Requirements User Stories Process & Procedure documents testing training etc.) ensuring buy-in from business users
  • Develop and execute test plans coordinate testing efforts and validate solutions against requirements
  • Support the integration of AI technologies and assess effectiveness of deployed AI solutions to drive continuous improvement
  • Champion best practices in business analysis and contribute to the continuous improvement of PMO processes
  • Lead smaller business focused initiatives from inception to completion applying project management skills as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Business Analyst preferably in financial services wealth management or digital transformation environments
  • Experience with client portals CRM systems (Salesforce) and investment/portfolio management platforms is an asset
  • Experience in managing small to medium sized projects is an asset
  • Post-secondary degree in a business or information technology discipline is preferred
  • Excellent verbal written and communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Demonstrated evidence of Change Management experience
  • Proven analytical problem solving and trouble-shooting skills
  • Experience leading process analysis and documentation of current and future state processes
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent client service and team collaboration
  • Familiarity with digital security onboarding and self-serve functionality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Visio and basic data analysis tools; Power BI/SSRS and scripting knowledge is an asset
  • Demonstrated investment management / private wealth domain knowledge required
