Our client a well-respected and long-established law firm located in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Paralegal to join their Housing Disrepair department. This role offers full training and is ideal for a bright and ambitious law graduate with a strong interest in litigation. The position is permanent fully office-based and offers a salary of .

Role & Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to:

  • Reviewing initial claim information.
  • Gathering initial information from clients over the phone.
  • Sending files for triage and reviewing triage reports.
  • Identifying and processing files for rejection.
  • Handling routine post emails and telephone calls.
  • Coordinating with surveyors and other experts.
  • Promptly addressing telephone enquiries from clients introducers and others.
  • Assisting other team members as needed including various aspects of file handling under supervision.
  • Performing other duties as reasonably requested by the Partners.

Candidate Requirements & Desired Attributes:

  • Law graduate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and proficiency in electronic case management and filing systems.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work accurately under time constraints and meet deadlines.
  • Strong research skills interpersonal skills and a high level of discretion when handling confidential matters.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to prioritise work effectively.
  • Understanding the importance of client care and maintaining good client relations.
  • Ability to work well within a team.

Prior experience in a Claimant Housing Disrepair department would be highly beneficial although not essential.
