Job Description

The Position

THIS POSITION IS SPANISHBILINGUAL REQUIRED

TheEducational Services Divisionis now accepting applications for Home Visiting Specialist - Early Head Start Restricted (Spanish Bilingual Required).

Under the direct supervision of Supervisor - Home-Based Program Early Head Start/Restricted the Home Visiting Specialist Early Head Start - Restricted is responsible for providing intensive and comprehensive child development and family support services to enhance the physical social emotional and intellectual development of participating children. The Home Visiting Specialist - Early Head Start - Restricted promotes positive parent-child interactions and provides resources to parents in a home-based setting to support parents in their roles. The Home Visiting Specialist - Early Head Start Restricted is also responsible for coordinating and leading socialization sessions with groups of children and their families.

This position is full-time and has a work year of 12 months 261 days 8 hours per day.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to complete three (3) units of Infant/Toddler education within one year after hire.
  • Valid California drivers license

EXAMINATION PROCEDURES

  • Assessments and interviews may take place virtually or in-person.
  • Following the final filing date the qualifications of all candidates will be evaluated.
  • Themost qualified candidateswill be invited to participatein a written exam tentatively scheduled forSeptember 17 2025.
  • Those who pass the written exam will be invited to participate in an oral examination with subject matter experts tentatively scheduled for September 25 2025.
  • Based on the final scores of qualified candidates Classified Personnel Services will establish a ranked candidate list.
  • Selected candidates from the list will be invited to a second interview with the hiring authorities tentatively scheduled for October 2 2025.
  • Second interviews may be held in-person.
  • Candidates will be invited over email to participate in examination and selection steps using the email supplied within their or as updated by candidates in it is recommended that candidates check their email at least daily.


NOTE: Examination procedures are subject to change as deemed necessary by the Director - Classified Personnel Services. Candidates who test successfully for placement on the eligibility list may be certified to other related positions without further testing requirements OR job posting announcements.
