Description Of Job Duties
Student Staff Leadership & Coordination: Lead the onboarding process for new Fine Arts Event Student Workers which includes assisting training and conducting secondary interviews as directed by management. Create and implement event staffing schedules using Sling ensuring adequate coverage for all operational areas (e.g. box office ushering event setup/breakdown) and following managements instructions. Serve as the day-of-show point person for other student workers and patrons providing clear guidance support and immediate problem resolution in coordination and communication with the Fine Arts Venue & Guest Services Manager Ushers & Volunteer Coordination: Professionally coordinate with volunteer ushers managing sign-ups assigning positions and sending out important announcements or reminders to ensure a well-prepared and welcoming front-of-house team. Event Operations & Patron Services Oversight: Oversee and participate in comprehensive event preparation including organizing will-call tickets setting up for ticket sales managing usher sign-ins and assisting with overall venue setup (e.g. seating signage and accessibility arrangements). Lead the opening and closing procedures for the box office and front-of-house areas for regular desk shifts and all performances ensuring operational readiness and security. Process and sell tickets for performances using our online ticketing system assisting customers in person over the phone and by processing online orders. Interact professionally with all event patrons providing information resolving inquiries and ensuring a positive and welcoming experience from arrival to departure. Team Collaboration & Communication: Contribute significantly to team goals by actively attending student trainings collaborating on projects and providing broader operational assistance to department staff as needed. Attend and help coordinate monthly in-service meetings to stay updated on programming season changes and other important employment information disseminating key details to the student worker team. Attend a brief biweekly Student Lead meeting to stay connected and up to-date on information and changes (remote option available).

Must be enrolled as a student at North Central College The Fine Arts Event Student Lead plays a vital role in the seamless execution and success of all events hosted by North Central Colleges Fine & Performing Arts Department. This position supports comprehensive front-of-house operations coordinates student staff across various functions and ensures an exceptional experience for all patrons. Youll work across our diverse venues including Pfeiffer Hall Wentz Concert Hall the Theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall and Madden Theatre. Experience: Currently employed as a North Central College Fine Arts Event Student Worker or Box Office Student Worker having successfully completed at least one year on staff. Leadership Potential: Demonstrated ability to lead peers take initiative and effectively manage tasks in a dynamic event environment. Customer Service Excellence: A strong commitment to delivering a high level of professionalism and outstanding customer service to all patrons and colleagues. Technical & Organizational Skills: Proficient computer skills and excellent attention to detail are essential for ticketing systems scheduling and event logistics. Availability: Must be available to work some nights and weekend shifts to cover performance and event schedules. This typically means working 3-5 events per month in a Student Lead addition to event shifts your role requires: 1.) a one-hour weekly administrative shift dedicated to tasks and projects assigned by the Fine Arts Venue & Guest Services Manager which can also include the required bi-weekly meetings and 2.) two hours on box office desk shifts weekly during business hours separate from your monthly event minimums. While not required summer availability is preferred.
