Overview of The Role
This role will focus primarily on the Responsible Sourcing pillar of The Saputo Promise. Under the supervision of the Director Animal Welfare and Sustainable Agriculture you will support the development and implementation of our sustainable agriculture strategy- including the application of our Sustainable Agriculture Policy and achievement of our scope 3 FLAG science-based targets. Supporting teams in Canada the US Argentina Australia and the UK you will ensure that our global standards are effectively implemented across our supply chain. You will achieve this by building constructive and effective relationships with departments and divisions and developing a deep understanding of desired business outcomes.
Travel Requirements: this role includes approximately10% travelwithinNorth Americaand to otherSaputo divisions.
How You Will Make Contributions That Matter:
Support the implementation of Saputos sustainable agriculture global standards aligned with best practices and our business goals
Collect global KPIs to track our progress against our Sustainable Agriculture Policy
Ensure the global collection of on-farm GHG emissions data to track and report progress against our scope 3 FLAG science-based target.
Evaluate projects aligned with our scope 3 FLAG science-based target and make funding recommendations for our dedicated global fund.
Engage with relevant stakeholders and organizations to identify initiative/project opportunities in line with our scope 3 FLAG science-based target.
Provide the tools and training to our field staff upskilling them to engage farmers on sustainability issues
Continuously assess sustainability risks related to other agricultural commodities and propose mitigation plan
Act as subject matter expert for all issues related to sustainable agriculture and represent Saputo in technical sustainable agriculture groups where appropriate
You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have the Following Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Agronomy or Agriculture related field. Advanced degree in Sustainable Agriculture is an advantage.
2 to 5 years of experience in sustainability/conservation farming practices;
Multi-generational farm farmhand or farm-related background is considered an advantage.
Proven experience working with farms producing agricultural commodities or milk is an advantage.
Demonstrated passion for promoting and implementing sustainable agriculture practices
Can work collaboratively in a cross-functional multi-cultural environment
English (spoken and written) is mandatory as the Advisor will be supporting teams in Canada the United States Argentina Australia and the United Kingdom

Salary range: $60135 to $78930
*Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience education skills and training.
* Location: This is a100% remote role. However depending on the candidates place of residence there may be an opportunity to beassigned toone of our sites in Milwaukee Franklin or Dallas.
