Job Summary:
The Collections Clerk performs a variety of credit and collection functions assisting in the management of customer accounts payment processing and credit risk documentation. This role involves reviewing credit sources contacting customers regarding overdue payments and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities:
- Review and monitor credit sources customer applications and delinquent accounts.
- Obtain information from credit organizations banks and loan associations.
- Maintain records of credit risks delinquent accounts and incomplete files.
- Send follow-up letters to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts.
- Contact customers by phone to determine reasons for overdue payments and review contract terms.
- Receive and post payments to customer accounts.
- Record and update customer financial status and collection activity.
- Sort and file correspondence.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 0 3 years of related experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED with additional/specialized training.
- 0 4 years of related experience.
Special Considerations:
- Frequent use of motor coordination with finger dexterity (e.g. typing machine operation).
- Rarely required to lift objects under 30 pounds.
- Rare exposure to occupational risks (e.g. cuts burns chemicals).
- Rare exposure to environmental elements (e.g. dirt odors noise weather).
- Normal office setting.
