Position Summary
This position is designed to be a learning opportunity for a student interested in stormwater and environmental compliance. It will provide hands-on experience in stormwater along with the Universitys environmental inspection permitting and regulatory compliance programs. The position will work towards learning to identify and possibly solve complex environmental problems related to surface water quality and stormwater permitting compliance with oversight from the environmental management workgroup. This position will work closely with Environmental Specialists to gain experience in planning preparing coordinating and facilitating the implementation of UNC -CCs Phase II NPDES Stormwater Permit. Position will have opportunity to gain knowledge and experience with performing on-going inspections for the erosion and sedimentation control practices used at all UNC -CH construction sites under the supervision of the environmental workgroup. The position will assist in implementing UNC -CHs stormwater management program including surface water sampling and illicit discharge investigations plus associate date management and required reporting to environmental regulatory agencies.
Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
High School. Technicians are trained in the applicable laws or inspection procedures through some combination of classroom and on-the-job training.
