This is a growth position to learn Welding Processes and Welding Applications working closely with an Advance Fabrication Specialist for the purpose of gaining experience in welding applications and using the Airgas Sales Methodology.
Under the direction and guidance of the Director of Advanced Fabrication work on small Airgas accounts in order to learn the welding processes and applications.
Travel to customer sites with a Weld Process Specialist to understand the customers current welding processes and gain an understanding of what welding applications Airgas has to offer the customer.
Travel to Airgas Apprenticeship Training program to: Learn about Airgas Sales tools (Efficiency Analysis Weld Surveys
Unlocking the Hidden Costs of Welding) and how to use them to gain an retain business. Develop an understanding of how to increase sales and margin profit through Engineered Cost Reduction. Learn about Airgas Shielding Gases weld products and services and how to explain each product and service to a customer.
Learn about flexible and fixed automation applications and CNC cutting systems and be able to explain them to customers.
Listen to customer sales calls and learn about how to provide product and application training to customers. Understand the types of customer inquiries and how to satisfactorily resolve customer complaints.
As the understanding and knowledge of all the above increases may take basic questions from customers.
Required Qualifications
Associates Degree Welding Military Weld training acceptable or Bachelors degree (Engineering - preferred) from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-5 years experience with welding industry experience preferred
Ongoing training for Advanced Fabrication will be provided.
TQM Lean or Six Sigma background.
Must have good presentation and communication skills and confidence to permit selling to high-level officers of customer companies.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules material safety data sheets operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Must have a valid drivers license.
Preferred Qualifications
Sales/customer facing experience preferred.
Membership within organizations such as American Welding Society (AWS) American Society of Metals International American Society of Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT) American Society of Quality (ASQ) American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) are desirable.
