Head of Finance (First Finance Hire Future CFO)
San Francisco Bay Area 4 days in office

About the Founders and amp; Team
You wont just be a finance person. Youll be the trusted right hand to a leadership team that has built and scaled category-defining companies:
- 7x published in healthcare AI former UCSF med student Stanford grad (top 3%).
- Former Head of Product Engineering at Athelas/Commure first engineer at Cameo ex-Facebook engineer Duke grad.
- Theyve raised $22M Series A from First Round Chemistry and Quiet Capital with backing from leaders at Flatiron Athena Health Mercury Mammoth and PathAI.
What Youll Do
- Build Finance 0 1: Stand up all core functions - budgeting forecasting reporting compliance and controls.
- Hands-On Strategic: One day youre reconciling accounts the next youre presenting board decks. Nothing is too small.
- Investor/Board Reporting: Own the numbers and the narrative - tell the story of our growth to top investors.
- Team Building: Within 12 months hire and lead a lean finance team (senior accountant finance ops).
- Fundraising Partner: Work side-by-side with the CEO to prepare for and execute future rounds.
- AI-Powered Finance: Deploy cutting-edge AI tools to automate workflows accelerate insights and reinvent how finance operates.
What Were Looking For
- 4 years experience total:
- 2 years in M and amp;A investment banking (bulge bracket or elite boutique).
- 2 years in corporate/strategic finance at a startup (Series AC preferred).
- Expert in financial modeling forecasting P and amp;L management and board-level reporting.
- Builders mentality: thrives in fast-paced zero-to-one environments.
- Scrappy hands-on and comfortable in the weeds.
- Strong communicator - able to distill complexity into insight for execs and investors.
- Bonus: B2B SaaS notable startup pedigree (Ramp Brex Notion Airtable Scale AI etc.).
- Ambition to become CFO as the company scales.
