The AFS Interest Rates Division has roots dating back 170 years and continues to expand in both its core established and new total AFS Group counts more than 175 employees with ambitious growth plans centred on how to best serve our customers in this dynamic ever-changing and fast-paced markets. The AFS Interest Rates Division consists of a group of 40 ambitious and motivated professionals across Money & Capital Markets and Fixed Income providing best in class solutions to serve a variety of public sector corporate banking and institutional clients.

We are looking for talented (or aspiring) brokers to develop new and further existing relationships with European corporates governments and Public institutions with the support of AFS core product offering and the network and expertise of our various colleagues. The Public Debt desk intermediates deposits CPs CDs and other short-term interest rate products as well as loans MTNs and Private Placements in the capital market on behalf of our core clients. Overall the Interest Rates Division is active in the following products:
Interbank and Non-banking Deposits
Certificates of Deposits (CD) & Commercial Paper (CP)
Repurchase Agreements
Arbitrage
Foreign Exchange (mainly FX-Swaps)
Interest Rate Derivatives
Treasury Bills
Medium Term Notes & Structured Bonds
Private Placements & Structured Loans
Within the European market alone there remain numerous opportunities for expansion. We can increase our focus on markets where we already have a presence and explore new markets where we have not yet established activities. We are therefore seeking talents with diverse linguistic abilities and backgrounds who are interested in a commercial role within the financial sector.
In this role you will be focusing on:
Managing maintaining and expanding the public sector client portfolio with a focus on new business and high potential markets
Identify clients needs and proactively act to achieve best-in-market customersatisfaction
Actively looking for new and cross-selling opportunities within AFS Group departments
Conduct market research where you will research and analyse market trends technological advancements potential clients and their industry trends to help inform business decisions
Becoming a sub-sovereign debt product specialist focusing on short- and long-term direct lending
Bachelor degree or higher
Candidates with experience in finance broking trading or complex sales roles are preferred
Fluently Dutch and English and preferably German
Eager energetic curious and proactive by nature
You are steady and not afraid to (cold) call (potential) clients and go on sales trips
Good knowledge of financial products and the money and capital market
Accurate excellent numerical and analytical skills
