Job Description

Hospice of Marion County a member of Empath Health is seeking a scheduler to join our team!

The Scheduler is responsible for the coordination of all Hospice House schedules and staffing. Works closely with House PFCC to maintain staffing. Works with Crisis Care Coordinator for crisis care staffing assistance during the week and on scheduled weekends. Works under the direct supervision of the Crisis Care Coordinator.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists in developing monthly schedules for EH LH SH & TH and prints out schedules.
  • Maintains a safe environment for team members to include facilitation in the utilization of universal precautions and all appropriate safety measures.
  • Collaborates with the House PFCCs and Assistant Director of Patient/Family Care regarding PTO requests.
  • Is available for after hours and weekend calls for staffing concerns.
  • Ensures that the scheduling of staff conforms with staffing ratios.
  • Communicates effectively and timely with immediate supervisor regarding scheduling issues/conflicts documentation timeliness/accuracy.
  • Maintains good communication among clinical staff PRN staff House PFCCs and other internal customers.
  • Consistently demonstrates the ability to prioritize workload to ensure items are completed within agency guidelines.
  • Demonstrates ability to react to change positively.
  • Acts as the contact person for PRN staff and FT staff for staffing concerns.
  • Responsible for finding staffing coverage when a staff member is absent from scheduled shift.
  • Responsible for scheduling staff for crisis care cases when working scheduled weekends as well as assist during the week as needed.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School diploma or (GED) required
    • Two (2) years of scheduling experience preferred.
    • Must have a Valid Florida Drivers License and maintain current auto insurance coverage.
    • Ability to operate a facsimile copy machines computers and other common office machines with working knowledge of MS Word Outlook Excel and other software appropriate to position.
    • Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures and governmental regulations as well as documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
