RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct research and analysis with a focus on areas of potential risk including reputational regulatory sanctions fraud and corruption risks.
  • Support Tokyo team with research tasks.
  • Translate documents from Japanese to formal English when necessary.
  • Assess the risk posed by a third party and escalate high-risk cases.
  • Maintain and updating internal records pertaining to the screening of third parties.
  • Organize project files maintain accurate research records and record all communications with stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to inform of risks posed by third parties.
  • Write logical and objective reports that present findings and recommendations concisely.
  • Take ownership of projects and deliverables.
  • Maintain effective time management to meet client deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong academic background or equivalent professional experience demonstrating a high level of proficiency in analytical research complex problem solving and critical thinking.
  • An interest in business and commercial affairs and specifically in risks faced by commercial organizations around the world.
  • Native or equivalent English language proficiency in reading comprehension
  • Extremely strong reading and writing skills in English and Japanese with the ability to quickly summarize information into a concise analytical assessment
  • Native Japanese speaker or JLPT N1/N2 qualification would be highly desired
  • Extremely high familiarity with Japan Japanese society Japanese business culture. Previous residence in Japan preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills with proven experience in using Word Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Commitment to ethical management of sensitive and confidential data.
  • A strong teamwork ethic and excellent people skills.
  • An analytical inquisitive and logical mind with excellent attention to detail and a rigorous approach to conducting research.
  • Enthusiasm for third party risk management.
  • Strong communications skills (upward downward across individuals across cultures across business lines).
  • Excellent writing skills.

Beneficial:

  • Experience and skills in online research and use of specialized databases.

1-2 years professional experience in research related field.
