The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong (CMHHK) stands as a flagship Chinese medicine (CM) institution dedicated to advancing Chinese medicine in Hong Kong and is expected to commence operation in phases at the end of 2025.

Established through a public-private partnership the hospital is being constructed by the government with HKBU appointed as the contractor in June 2021 through a tendering process. Subsequently HKBU registered HKBU Chinese Medicine Hospital Company Limited as the operator in accordance with the requirements of the service deed which is responsible for the management operation and maintenance of CMHHK.

A hallmark of CMHHK is its integrated approach blending Chinese and Western medicine to provide professional patient care. CMHHK will actively engage in various interactions and collaborate with the industry to promote the development of Chinese medicine across Hong Kong the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and international institutions. By sharing resources and expertise CMHHK aims to advance the standardisation and globalisation of Chinese medicine opening new directions for future healthcare services.

Building Services Inspector ()

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in leading site technical staff in managing and tackling all day-to-day building related matters;
  • Provide technical assistance on management of major capital works projects;
  • Assist in monitoring progress of site works and controlling of works materials and workmanships;
  • Provide technical support to project works in relation to all building works;
  • Supervise and monitor the performance of contractors and other parties;
  • Coordinate with Safety Officers of contractors Safety Auditor of consultants and other parties for monitoring site safety;
  • Maintain a site record of the daily activities on site and submit monthly returns to relevant parties;
  • Assist in preparing and submitting inspection and progress reports and monthly summary;
  • Carry out routine inspections of the building works / building service works and check for conformity with the drawings specifications and contract requirements and report all unsatisfactory works;
  • Assist in administering defects and outstanding works;
  • Monitor all environmental health and safety aspects of the contractors works. Report all non-compliance of safety procedures immediately to the contractors representative and the project team and record this in the site records;
  • Work according to duty roster attend emergency calls and perform typhoon duties; and
  • Perform any other duties as required to facilitate implementation of capital works projects of the division including site supervision of construction works.

Requirements:

  • (a) A diploma or higher certificate in Building Services Engineering Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering plus 8 years relevant experience in major building services engineering works and electrical & mechanical (E&M) maintenance works; or
  • (b) Certificate in Building Services Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering from a recognised institute plus 10 years relevant experience in major building services engineering works and E&M maintenance works; or
  • (c) Minimum of 8 years of hospital working experience in plumbing & drainages services works small machinery control etc.;
  • Formal training in occupational safety and health;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills;
  • Responsible self-motivated and able to work independently under minimal supervision;
  • Outgoing and able to work under pressure and stressful situation;
  • Knowledge of other common office automation (e.g. e-mail Internet/Intranet MS Word MS Excel MS PowerPoint MS Project AutoCAD and other MS Office applications etc.); and
  • Practical experience in public works projects.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract by Hong Kong Baptist University. Following the commencement of CMH and subject to the candidates satisfactory performance and the decision of CMH subsequent appointment will be offered directly by CMH.
