Job Description
As an AWS Solution Architect you will be part of the Forterro Cloud Practice and you will be sorting Forterro in our Cloud transformation journey and helping us meet and further develop in accordance with our long-term business goals. As a point of expertise for the AWS services you will have to assist with the technical leadership for solutions and architectures. Solution Architects will play an active role in aligning the business requirements with the delivery leadership by doing hands-on work on specific projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Work directly with internal customers to understand their requirements business drivers strategies architectures cloud adoption roadmaps operating models KPI and defined product specifications in-line with recommended best-practice architectures to achieve positive business outcome.
Act and be seen as a SME / trusted advisor by building a technical relationship to develop robust scalable and sustainable cloud solutions.
Technical leadership in architecture development and deployment of AWS based solutions for Forterro customers and offering teams.
Provide the technical leadership to help internal staff learn and use AWS services (e.g. ECS EKS S3 Lambda RDS IAM Network)
Consult IT architects and R&D departments on system architecture and infrastructure level.
As a key member of the Forterro CloudOps team ensure success in designing building optimizing transforming or otherwise migrating applications software and services on AWS.
Hands-on work on the AWS infrastructure to support the on-going Forterro Projects
Work closely with the relevant stakeholders to assure successful delivery of the project/product. Contribute to the definition of project timeline milestones and deliverables efforts.
Participate in providing mentoring support and guidance to team members to help grow skills and capabilities of the AWS practice.
Take full advantage of the training and developmental support Forterro offers to grow technically and personally to nurture a better you.
Support the on-going Forterro activities by leveraging your knowledge and capabilities in automation to optimize the cloud practice and reduce wasted effort/time.
Minimum Qualifications:
Fluent in English
Highly technical and analytical possessing 7 or more years of IT implementation experience.
Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies.
Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g. security privacy GDPR etc.)
Experience in DevOps/GitOps (Kubernetes Git) automation tools (ArgoCD Crossplane) and Infrastructure as code (Terraform CloudFormation)
Knowledge and experience in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes other technologies would be a plus.
Good analytical skills in linking technical and commercial implications. Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business product and technical challenges.
Experience evaluating the technical resources required.
Outline the dependencies and skills required to deliver the solution.
Strong oral and written communication skills with a high degree of comfort dealing with PMs Business Units support and development teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Highly technical and analytical possessing 10 or more years of IT implementation experience.
Experience designing building migrating refactoring or operating large scale and impactful IT systems/workloads/applications - either on premises or in the cloud.
AWS certification - AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional
Proven experience with Networking on AWS
AWS Network specialty certification
High level of proven experience in the concepts of DevOps and the development life cycle (CI/CD).
Demonstrated experience building large-scale architectures involving public/hybrid cloud platforms and on-premise technologies to meet business requirements.
Working knowledge of cloud native architectures.
Demonstrate domain expertise when collaborating on cross platform projects with teams responsible for Network Desktop & Cloud.
Discern new opportunity areas to get engaged in and propose solutions.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
