Function Summary
DCC (Distribution Capability Development) Department is dedicated to equipping all sales employees with the essential knowledge and product skills across the companys diverse financial product offerings and future skill identification.

Job Summary
To lead Axis Max Lifes transformation through capability building by anchoring the digitalization of learning and capability building tools for the distribution channels. This role will focus on strategizing designing and institutionalizing a robust AI-integrated tech-enabled learning ecosystem. The position will require close collaboration with channel training heads to co-create channel-specific digital learning journeys that align with business objectives and productivity outcomes.
This role will be pivotal in transitioning learning at Axis Max Life from traditional formats to a digitally-led self-driven and scalable model over a 5-year horizon.
Strategic Context:
With the increasing complexity and digitalization of insurance distribution the traditional classroom training model is no longer sufficient or scalable. There is a strong need to empower our workforce with on-demand personalized and performance-linked learning interventions.
The future of capability building lies in personalized learning driven through AI at scale from common content to personalized content and personalized assessment. Todays workforce demands flexibility autonomy and digital fluency. With mpitch pro and msaarthi (our LMS platform) already in place Axis Max Life is well-positioned to pivot into a learner-led technology-integrated training culturebut this requires dedicated strategic leadership in DCC.
This role will now accelerate and operationalize the full digital learning vision ensuring deeper adoption measurable impact and long-term capability enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Digital Learning Strategy & Vision
- Create a 3-year digital learning transformation blueprint for distribution capability building
- Architect a phased shift from instructor-led training to blended and self-paced digital learning.
- Continuously integrate emerging technologies and modern learning trends.
- Blend digital-first thinking into the existing training ecosystem
2. Channel-Specific Digital Learning Journeys
- Collaborate with training heads of Agency Axis Banca Strategic Alliances Group and IMF channels
- Design personalized digital journeys aligned to role-specific KPIs tenure and region
- Develop competency-based progression tracks using msaarthi and other tools
3. AI Technology & Learning Analytics
- Introduce AI tools for learning personalization nudges adaptive assessments and coaching
- Use data and insights to continuously optimize content and learner journeys
- Integrate digital learning into the flow of work especially for sales roles Leverage AI for personalized learning paths real-time feedback loops intelligent nudges and predictive analytics.
- Build capability to support AI coaches chatbots simulations and adaptive content engines.
- Identify and deploy AI-powered performance support tools that sit within the flow of work.
4. LMS Adoption & Ecosystem Management
- Drive deep engagement on mpitchPro/msaarthi increasing course completion active usage and feedback loops
- Enhance the platforms content formats (microlearning gamification mobile-first)
- Track learner activity dashboards and continuously refine interventions
5. Partnerships & Innovation
- Identify evaluate and onboard digital learning vendors content partners and EdTech players
- Pilot and scale innovative virtual learning formats (simulations bootcamps virtual role-plays)
- Benchmark practices across BFSI and global learning leaders
6. Change Management & Capability Uplift
- Build internal buy-in across channel heads trainers and distribution leaders
- Train and enable internal trainers to champion digital-first formats
- Drive a mindset shift from training dependency to continuous learning ownership
7. Measurement & Business Impact
- Define track and publish learning effectiveness and ROI dashboards
