The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland Southern Region is a major voluntary organisation which provides age related residential educational and day services for people with intellectual disabilities autism and communication disorders throughout the Cork and Kerry area.
We are seeking energetic passionate Social Care Workers to join our residential care teams based in our Services in Cork City suburbs and Bandon Co. Cork.

Permanent Full-Time hours (78 hours per fortnight)
Adult Residential
Two Centres within a 20km radius of Cork City

The Purpose
The person/s appointed to the residential services will be very flexible in their approach to service provision and have the ability to work both on their own initiative and as a member of a team. He/she will work to the ethos and vision of the Brothers of Charity ensuring the needs of the people supported are being met by them as directed by the Person in Charge.
The model of Service will be based on the Good Lives Model. The successful candidate ideally should have a good working knowledge of Clinical Risk Management and in the identified planning systems or in the management of Services for persons with complex/ behavioural support needs As a team member the best interests of each person using our service will be paramount in all discussions. Emphasis will be on forming a team approach involving people supported families advocates and staff on all relevant issues. People supported receive an integrated or part integrated service in line with their preference.

The Public Service Superannuation (Age of Retirement) Act 2018* set 70 years as the compulsory retirement age for public servants .
* Public Servants not affected by this legislation: Public servants recruited between 1 April 2004 and 31 December 2012 (new entrants) have no compulsory retirement age.
Public servants recruited since 1 January 2013 are members of the Single Pension Scheme and have a compulsory retirement age of 70.
3. Health
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
4. Character
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
Salary Scale: 40351 - 56650 including 1 LSI per annum (1/8/25) and pro-rata for part-time contracts
* Successful candidates are required to submit all documentary evidence outlining any relevant experience within 3 months of starting date. Failure to do so will mean that any incremental credit due now will only be paid from date of submission of documents.
Hours of work: 78 hours per fortnight which may include sleep-in duties
