Wetherbee School is a small K-8 neighborhood school in Lawrence Massachusetts that believes in fostering a deep-rooted love of learning and curiosity. We are currently seeking a Humanities/History teacher (grades 7 and 8) responsible for teaching four core classes (two grade 7 classes two grade 8 classes) and one Intervention Class. Proficiency in implementing a high-quality curriculum aligned to the Massachusetts State Standards is ideal candidate possesses a belief that all students are capable of learning and enjoys working with a strong grade-level team. Experience with co-teaching and inclusion practices including collaborative planning is recommended. Teacher responsibilities include but are not limited to:Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Overseeing one homeroom class Participating in the Warrior S.T.R.O.N.G. school-wide positive behavior support protocols Maintaining homeroom cumulative folders Participating in grade-level and content vertical planning meetings Attending IEP 504 student support and team meetings Participating in curriculum night report card night(s) and building meetings Establishing and maintaining grade-level paraprofessional collaboration in the Humanities/History content areaKnowledge Skills & Abilities: Experience in collaborating with social service agencies. Strong facilitation and communication skills. Proficient in English. Bilingual Candidates Preferred.
